MS250 at a Glance
Port Configurations
The MS250 line spans five models to match branch and small campus port density needs:
MS250-24 and MS250-24P (24x GbE), and MS250-48,
MS250-48LP, and MS250-48FP (48x GbE). Every model includes 4x 10G SFP+ uplinks and a dedicated management port, so you get consistent uplink bandwidth regardless of port count.
Power over Ethernet
PoE+ variants deliver device-level power for APs, phones, and cameras without extra
injectors. MS250-24P and MS250-48LP provide up to
370W of PoE+ budget, while the MS250-48FP steps up to a full
740W budget for high-density PoE deployments. Non-PoE MS250-24 and MS250-48 models are available where local power isn't required.
Performance & Stacking
24-port models switch up to 128 Gbps; 48-port models switch up to
176 Gbps. Two dedicated hardware stack ports on every model provide
80 Gbps of stacking bandwidth, letting you combine switches into a single logical unit
for simplified management and resilient uplinks. Dual hot-swappable, field-replaceable power supplies add redundancy for mission-critical closets.
Layer 3 & Cloud Management
Built-in Layer 3 switching with OSPF support lets the MS250 handle inter-VLAN routing at the access or
aggregation layer. Every MS250 is managed entirely through the Meraki Dashboard
— zero-touch provisioning, remote packet capture, automatic firmware updates, SNMP/Syslog
integration, and centralized visibility across sites, licensed with Meraki Enterprise or Advanced cloud
licensing.

The MS250-24 and MS250-48 are non-PoE models offering 24 or 48 Gigabit ports plus 4x
10G SFP+ uplinks. The MS250-24P and MS250-48LP add PoE+ with up to 370W of power budget, while the
MS250-48FP is the high-power option with up to 740W, ideal for dense AP, phone, or camera deployments
on a single switch.
The MS250-48FP delivers up to 740W of PoE+ power across its 48 Gigabit ports, making
it the highest-power model in the MS250 family and well suited for wiring closets supporting large
numbers of access points, IP phones, and PoE cameras.
Yes. Every MS250 model includes two dedicated hardware stacking ports delivering up
to 80 Gbps of stacking bandwidth, allowing multiple switches to operate as a single logical switch for
simplified management, resilient uplinks, and easier VLAN administration.
Yes, the MS250 series supports Layer 3 switching, including OSPF, so it can perform
inter-VLAN routing at the access or aggregation layer without requiring a separate router.
Yes. Like all Meraki MS switches, the MS250 is cloud-managed through the Meraki
Dashboard and requires an active Enterprise or Advanced license tied to the hardware's serial number
for the switch to operate, receive firmware updates, and access dashboard features.
