End User Protection.
Endpoint security that stops threats before they spread.
Firewalls.com carries endpoint protection platforms (EPP), endpoint detection and response (EDR), and
managed detection and response (MDR) solutions from SonicWall, Sophos, and Fortinet. Whether you are
protecting 10 workstations or 10,000 endpoints across distributed sites, our certified engineers help you
choose, deploy, and manage the right solution for your risk profile and budget.

End User Protection at a Glance
Endpoint Detection and Response
EDR goes beyond signature-based malware detection to monitor behavior across every process, file write,
and network connection on the endpoint. When something looks suspicious, it records the full attack
chain, isolates the device automatically, and gives your team the forensic trail needed to understand
exactly what happened and what else to check. Sophos Intercept X and SonicWall Capture Client both
include EDR capabilities.
Ransomware Rollback
Sophos Intercept X includes CryptoGuard technology that detects ransomware encryption in real time and
automatically rolls back affected files to their pre-attack state, limiting data loss to seconds rather
than hours or days. This feature alone has reversed ransomware attacks for hundreds of Firewalls.com
customers without paying a ransom or restoring from backup.
Centralized Cloud Management
Every endpoint solution we carry is managed from a cloud console, meaning no on-prem management server
to maintain. Deploy agents remotely, push policy updates to every device in seconds, view real-time
threat status across the entire organization, and generate compliance reports from one place.
Multi-tenant dashboards are available for MSPs managing multiple clients.
Managed Detection and Response
If your team does not have the bandwidth to monitor endpoint alerts around the clock, Sophos MDR
provides a 24x7 team of threat hunters who investigate alerts, contain threats, and notify you of
critical findings. MDR turns the software into a fully managed service without requiring additional
headcount on your side.
Not sure whether you need EPP, EDR, or MDR?
The right tier depends on your team's capacity to respond to alerts, your risk exposure, and what your
cyber insurance policy now requires. Our engineers have helped hundreds of businesses make this call and
can walk you through the options in plain language.
EPP (Endpoint Protection Platform) focuses on prevention: blocking malware, exploits,
and malicious websites before they execute. EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) adds continuous
monitoring and response capabilities, recording what happens on the endpoint so threats that slip past
prevention can be detected, investigated, and contained. Most enterprise solutions today combine both
in a single agent. If you can only choose one tier, go with EDR, as prevention alone is no longer
sufficient against modern threats.
Yes. A firewall protects traffic at the network perimeter, but it cannot see what
happens after a file lands on a device, an employee opens a malicious email attachment, or a remote
worker connects from an unsecured network. Endpoint protection covers the device itself, catching
threats that enter through email, USB drives, browser downloads, or encrypted traffic that the
firewall cannot inspect. The two layers work together, not as substitutes for each other.
Ransomware rollback detects when ransomware begins encrypting files and automatically
restores the affected files to their pre-encryption state using shadow copies maintained by the
endpoint agent. Sophos CryptoGuard, included in Intercept X Advanced and above, is the most well-known
implementation of this feature. It works independently of your backup system, meaning files can be
recovered in seconds even if the backup was not recent. It is not a substitute for backup, but it is a
powerful last line of defense when ransomware executes.
Most cyber insurers now require next-generation endpoint protection with EDR
capabilities as a baseline condition for coverage. Basic antivirus is no longer sufficient. Some
insurers also require MDR or 24x7 monitoring as a condition for ransomware coverage specifically. If
you are renewing or applying for cyber insurance, ask your broker for the specific technical controls
they require and we can match you to a solution that satisfies them.
Endpoint protection is typically licensed per seat, per year. A seat is one device,
whether a workstation, laptop, or server. Some vendors offer bundles that cover a mix of device types
under a single license tier. Multi-year terms are usually available at a discount. Firewalls.com can
quote single-year and multi-year pricing side by side so you can see the long-term cost before
committing.
Ready to close the gap between your perimeter and your endpoints?
Our certified engineers will recommend the right protection tier for your organization, handle licensing,
and deploy the agent across your fleet. No guesswork, no gap in coverage.
