Fortinet 231K.
Next-Gen Wi-Fi 7 Indoor Access Point
The FortiAP 231K is Fortinet's next-generation enterprise Wi-Fi 7 indoor access point, delivering tri-band
2x2 MU-MIMO radios across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz for roughly 9.3 Gbps of aggregate capacity. It's built
for organizations that want to future-proof office and campus Wi-Fi ahead of widespread Wi-Fi 7 client
adoption. An integrated multi-constellation GNSS receiver plus BLE/ZigBee support add location-aware
policies and asset tracking on top of standard FortiGate-managed wireless.

Curious how Wi-Fi 7 compares to Wi-Fi 6E?
See how the 231K's tri-band throughput and PoE class stack up against other FortiAP models before you
commit.
Yes. The "K" in the model name denotes Fortinet's Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) generation, and
the 231K provides tri-band 2x2 MU-MIMO radios across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz.
The 231K runs full tri-radio operation on standard 802.3at PoE (up to 15.2W), or it
can be powered by a 12V DC adapter where PoE isn't available.
Yes. The 231K is managed through the integrated wireless controller on any FortiGate,
or through FortiEdge Cloud and Fortinet SASE controllers for cloud-based management.
Each of the 231K's three radios supports up to 256 associated clients and up to 8
SSIDs per radio, giving it plenty of headroom for typical office and campus density.
The 231K is best suited to indoor offices and campuses that want to standardize on
Wi-Fi 7 now, ahead of broader Wi-Fi 7 client device adoption.
