The FortiAP 443K brings Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) performance to high-density indoor environments, pairing tri-band 4x4 MU-MIMO radios with a dedicated 24/7 RF scanning radio for always-on wireless security monitoring. Dual multigigabit Ethernet ports keep the network from becoming the bottleneck, while native integration with FortiGate or FortiEdge Cloud delivers unified wired/wireless policy from a single console. Built for busy enterprise floors, campuses, and branch offices that need maximum throughput without sacrificing built-in threat protection.

Specifications
443K at a Glance
Wireless Performance
Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) tri-band radios (2.4/5/6 GHz), each 4x4 MU-MIMO. Up to 1.148 Gbps on 2.4GHz, 8.648 Gbps on 5GHz, and 11.53 Gbps on 6GHz (per-band PHY rates). OFDMA, UL/DL MU-MIMO, BSS Coloring, and Target Wake Time for dense-client efficiency.
Antennas & Coverage
10 external RP-SMA antennas: 4x dual-band (2.4/5GHz), 4x 6GHz-only, and 2x tri-band scanning. Indoor-rated for offices, classrooms, and high-density enterprise floors. Integrated BLE/ZigBee and GPS antennas for locationing and asset tracking.
Connectivity & Power
2x Multigigabit RJ45 ports (100M up to 10GbE) plus USB 3.0 and RS-232 console. Powered by 802.3bt PoE for full performance, or dual 802.3at PoE with current sharing. Max power draw 41.7W.
Management & Security
Managed by an integrated FortiGate WLAN controller or the FortiEdge Cloud portal. Built-in WIDS/WIPS, spectrum analyzer, and 24/7 dedicated RF scanning. Up to 24 SSIDs and 512 clients per radio, UL2043 plenum-rated.
Not sure the 443K is the right fit?
Compare throughput, radio count, and mounting options across the full FortiAP lineup to find the access point that matches your deployment.
No. Fortinet's datasheet classifies the 443K as an indoor access point with no IP ingress rating specified, so it should be installed in a covered, climate-controlled space.
For full performance (all radios, full power, USB enabled) it needs 802.3bt PoE. It can also run on two 802.3at PoE sources with current sharing, or on lower-power PoE at reduced Tx power and fewer active chains.
The 443K supports 6GHz Wi-Fi 7 operation, but use of that band is subject to approval by regional regulatory authorities, so availability can vary by country.
No. The 443K is managed through the integrated WLAN controller on any FortiGate firewall, or through the cloud-based FortiEdge Cloud portal — no standalone controller hardware required.
They share the same radio and throughput specs; the 443K uses external RP-SMA antennas for flexible placement, while the 441K uses internal antennas.
