Fortinet 424E.
24-Port Gigabit Switch with 10GbE Uplinks
The FortiSwitch 424E is a compact 24-port Layer 2/3 switch built for branch and mid-size wiring closets
that need fast, reliable uplinks. It combines 24x Gigabit RJ45 access ports with 4x 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplinks
for aggregating traffic back to a core or data-center switch. A fiber variant (424E-FIBER) swaps the copper
access ports for SFP. Managed through FortiLink from a FortiGate, the 424E becomes part of the Fortinet
Security Fabric without a dedicated switch controller.

that matches your branch or aggregation layer.
The FortiSwitch 424E has 24 Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 access ports plus 4 10 Gigabit SFP+
uplink ports. A fiber variant, the 424E-FIBER, offers SFP access ports instead of copper.
No. The 424E is a data-only switch with no PoE output. If you need to power access
points or cameras, look at a PoE-capable model such as the FortiSwitch 248E or 448E.
Yes. The 424E supports FortiLink, allowing a FortiGate to discover, configure, and
monitor it as an extension of the firewall. It can also run in standalone mode with its own CLI and
web GUI.
The 424E includes 4 dedicated 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplink ports, letting you aggregate
traffic from this switch back to a core or data-center switch at 10GbE speeds.
The FortiSwitch 424E delivers 128 Gbps of switching capacity with a forwarding rate
of 204 Mpps, well suited to a 24-port branch or wiring-closet deployment.
