What hypervisors does the NSv 470 support?

The NSv 470 supports VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, and KVM for on-premises deployments. For public cloud it is available in AWS Marketplace, Azure Marketplace, and Google Cloud Marketplace.

How does NSv 470 licensing work?

The NSv 470 is licensed as an annual or multi-year virtual appliance subscription. Security service bundles (EPSS or APSS) are added on top of the base license. A single license covers one deployed instance regardless of hypervisor or cloud platform.

Can I inspect TLS/SSL traffic on the NSv 470?

Yes. The NSv 470 performs full TLS 1.3 decryption and re-encryption as part of its deep packet inspection pipeline, making encrypted malware and command-and-control traffic visible and blockable.

Is the NSv 470 managed the same way as a hardware SonicWall appliance?

Yes. The NSv 470 runs SonicOS 7.0 and is fully manageable through the same web UI, NSM console, and REST API as physical SonicWall hardware. Policies and configurations are interchangeable.
