The SFP/SFP+ port accepts 1Gb SFP or 10Gb SFP+ transceivers. It is typically used for a high-speed fiber uplink to an ISP demarcation point or a core switch. For sites where the ISP delivers multi-gig fiber, this port lets the T145 handle the WAN connection without the copper WAN port becoming a throughput bottleneck. SFP and SFP+ transceivers are sold separately and must be compatible with WatchGuard hardware.

Yes. The T145 uses an ultra-low-power CPU that allows fully fanless, silent operation. This makes it well suited to environments where fan noise is a concern, such as open offices, classrooms, reception areas, and small server closets shared with staff. There is no fan to fail and no noise at any load level.

The T145 delivers 710 Mbps UTM throughput versus 510 Mbps on the T125, adds an SFP/SFP+ fiber port that the T125 does not have, supports 25 Branch Office VPN tunnels versus 10 on the T125, and comes with 20 EDR Core sensors rather than 5. It is sized for up to 75 users versus 40 for the T125 and is fully fanless where the T125 has a low-noise fan.

Yes. The T145 supports active/passive and active/active HA clustering. Two T145 units can be paired so that if the primary fails, the secondary takes over without interrupting established connections. Active/active load sharing across both units is also supported. HA requires WatchGuard's HA license and both units in the cluster must be the same model.

The T145 itself is wired only. If you need integrated wireless at the same site, choose the T145-W, which adds built-in Wi-Fi 7 with external antennas and shares identical performance specs and port configuration with the T145. Alternatively, you can pair a wired T145 with WatchGuard AP hardware managed through the same WatchGuard Cloud account for more flexible wireless coverage across larger spaces.
